Did you know that conventional electric and heat generation is very inefficient, with around two-thirds of fuel inputs lost as wasted heat? Caterpillar’s Combined Heat & Power (CHP), also known as cogeneration systems increase overall fuel efficiency by using a single fuel source to generate both heat and electricity – making effective use out of fuel inputs. Heat recovery from gas-fueled engine generators can make distributed resources more cost-effective and sustainable! That’s why Caterpillar is celebrating CHP Week – to help spread the word about this innovative power solution.
