AUTO SET TIRES IMPROVES TIRE WEAR AND BUCKET FILL
To prevent tire wear, you may carefully inflate your tires and actively work to avoid punctures and abrasions. But do you use your tires efficiently? Auto Set Tires can help with that. It’s a feature enabled during the digging cycle that adds pressure to the front axle to reduce tire slip and wear. See how it can extend the life of your tires.

A function of Cat® Payload with Assist for Next Gen Cat medium wheel loaders, Auto Set Tires reduces tire wear by eliminating wheel slip during push-in. Let’s explore how you use it.
HOW TO SET WITH ONE TOUCH
Engage Auto Set Tires on the main touchscreen by selecting the icon under Payload with Assist within the application profile.
The Autodig indicator will illuminate in green when Auto Set Tires is active.
MOMENTARY LIFT COMMAND
Once activated, the system monitors machine parameters to detect contact when digging into material. It then applies a momentary lift command to the bucket. That puts a little added pressure on the front axle, eliminating wheel slip. Auto Set Tires will disengage if you make a lift command that is adequate to set tires while the system is active.

The Auto Set Tires feature can be used in situations when the full digging automation of the Autodig feature is not desired. Refer to your Operation and Maintenance Manual’s monitoring system section for additional information on accessing the full Assist features menu.
