More and more companies are looking to bring sustainability into the very heart of their business. Cat Rental customers are no exception.
The broad benefits of Cat Rental are known to many. What may not be as well known is how our rental equipment provides sustainability benefits.
The European Rental Association states, “Rental ticks all the boxes in fulfilling circular economy principles… Rental allows for less waste through shared usage of assets, extending the lifetime of equipment and putting emphasis on proper recycling.”
Markus Blenk, Zeppelin branch manager in the Munich Metropolitan area, Germany, says that sustainable solutions have become an ever more important factor for his customers. “We’re finding that one of the biggest drivers to the rental business today comes from the external pressures of new rules and regulations such as emission standards. Especially in urban centres, where customers frequently can’t use their older construction machines, renting the newest machines is the solution.”
Markus also points out other ways renting can help customers.
Rental customers also benefit from the ability to rent machines with fuel usage that matches their emissions goals.
Jonas Medinger, CEO of Silverdust GmbH, an event production company, explains, “At Silverdust, we host the annual ’Summer Breeze’ event for 45,000 metal fans. So, renting our machinery is the only reasonable option. As a company, we set a target of zero C02 emissions by 2030. However, we use approximately 60.000l of diesel during each festival season. Thanks to partnering with Zeppelin Rental, we can now rent machines that run on HVO100 fuel, reducing our CO2 emission by as much as 89% this year. It’s a huge step forward.”
For Donley's Concrete Group, helping to revitalize the Richmond Raceway's infield was a dream come true. With help from the Cat Rental Store, they made the track better for fans.
