C-12 and C13 REPTO configurations

These two engines come with a Rear Engine Power Take-Off (REPTO) configuration. That saves you even more time and money, since there’s no need to reconfigure a standard engine for REPTO applications.1

Can I repower my truck with a C-12 or C13?

It depends on which Cat engine you’re currently running. You can choose a C-12 or C13 Cat Reman engine with new content to replace any of these models:

  • C-12
  • C13
  • 3176
  • 3306
  • C-10
  • C11

What do you mean by “new content”?

Cat Reman engines with new content are fully assembled solutions that come with 100% new cylinder blocks, crankshafts and cylinder heads. They’re an ideal repair option if:

  • You need to restart the lifecycle of your engine, making future overhauls possible.
  • You want to move from an older, higher-emitting model to a newer, lower-emitting one.
  • You want to replace another engine brand with a Cat Reman engine of similar displacement and emissions level. (Some exclusions apply.)
  • Your existing core is damaged due to failure or has no value due to excessive rust and corrosion.

C-12 and C13 Cat Reman engines with new content deliver like new performance at a fraction-of-new price. And they’re backed by a two-year unlimited miles Caterpillar Limited Warranty2 with Extended Service Coverage (ESC) available for even more peace of mind.

Am I eligible for core credit?

There’s a good chance you will be. Greater flexibility in core acceptance criteria means we consider damaged, rusted and low-value cores for full core credit.3 That includes:

  • Broken crankshafts
  • Damaged or ventilated blocks
  • Excessive rust and corrosion
  • Fire damage

We also consider competitive cores with similar displacement and the same or newer emissions than the engine being replaced.

1The C13 is available only with a high-mount turbocharger and REPTO configuration. For other turbocharger configurations, contact your authorized Cat dealer.
2Warranty can vary by model and application; limitations apply. For complete details about the applicable Caterpillar Limited Warranty, contact an authorized Cat dealer.
3Additional guidelines may apply. Contact your authorized Cat dealer for more information.
