Thanks to Cat® Reman, you may be able to get a 3116, 3126, 3126B/3126E or C7 diesel engine for your on-highway truck. Cat medium-duty engines have long excelled in a variety of applications like service trucks, first-responder vehicles, bucket trucks, dump trucks, box trucks and more.
When you buy a Cat Reman engine, you get a product that performs like new. At state-of-the-art remanufacturing facilities, our team disassembles, cleans and inspects every component. The technicians use advanced salvage techniques and update each part with critical engineering updates. All piston rings, rubber parts, springs, seals, gaskets and o-rings are replaced with new components.
Cat Reman is serious about its quality check process, too. Cat Reman engines are assembled, dynamometer tested and tuned to make sure every product meets Caterpillar original performance specifications.
And when your Cat Reman medium-duty on-highway truck engine arrives, it will be fully assembled. This means the air compressor, main engine wiring harness, electronic control module and all engine sensors are included. On top of all that, Cat Reman medium-duty engines are covered by a 36-month, 150,000 miles or 3,600 hours Caterpillar Limited Warranty1 against Caterpillar defects in material and/or workmanship, plus towing coverage for the first 12 months.
And it gets better: To keep your expenses and your downtime lower, Cat Reman medium-duty engines are priced at a fraction of the cost of new when you return a used engine core to your Cat dealer.2
For more peace of mind, consider Extended Service Coverage (ESC), which gives you protection against unexpected repair bills and rising parts and labor costs. It's a great way to hedge your future repair costs against inflation. Cat Reman medium-duty engines have ESC options up to 48 months.
You can save money by taking advantage of Cat Reman’s flexible core acceptance criteria, too. You’re eligible to receive core credit3 as long as your engine is fully assembled and the cylinder block is not visibly cracked, broken or welded. Note, however, that even engines with visibly cracked, broken or welded cylinder blocks may be eligible for partial credit. Contact your local authorized Cat dealer for more details.
Every Cat Reman medium-duty engine is a blend of new Cat components such as filters, gaskets and o-rings, plus Cat Reman parts. They are available as a drop-in solution, online and through your authorized Cat dealer.
