Distributed Energy: Six Cat® G3520H Gensets Help Firm the Grid for Utah Utility
Deseret Power, a regional generation and transmission cooperative, required additional generating capacity to support its reliance on hydroelectric power and a solar project. Cat® dealer Wheeler Power Systems provided generator sets and assisted with design and construction of Solomon Station. The new and unmanned natural gas power plant is able to provide a quick response when more energy is required and bridges the gap between renewable sources of energy and traditional power generation.

Most of that energy is fed into the local power grid and sold.
