Optimization of Fuel Consumption for M 43 C Engines
The interaction of the engine setup, e.g., valve timing and turbocharger, play an important role in a turbocharged medium-speed four-stroke engine. The continuous development of the engine and its components leads to new possibilities for modifying the engine setup. This can improve engine efficiency while maintaining the same emission limits. It directly impacts the Carbon Intensity Index (CII) and Energy Efficiency Index (EEXI), which came into force in January 2023.
A solution to optimize fuel consumption for M 43 C engines is available. This solution changes some core components in the engine to improve the already favorable efficiency. This leads to an economically attractive reduction in fuel consumption of up to 5 g/kWh to help you achieve your operational goals while reducing the carbon footprint of up to 16 g/kWh CO2.
