IMPROVED EXHAUST SYSTEM FEATURES WATER-COOLED MANIFOLDS
Lower surface temperatures without sacrificing performance — that’s what you told us you wanted in the next generation of Cat® G3500 Lean Burn engines. The latest G3508, G3512, G3516 and G3520 models deliver exactly that. All feature water-cooled exhaust manifolds and improved heat shielding to contain heat from the exhaust and reduce skin temperatures.
What hasn’t changed
Improving the exhaust system didn’t affect the overall performance you’ve come to rely on. The latest G3500 engines still deliver the:
- Same proven reliability and durability
- Same horsepower and emission levels
- Same maintenance intervals and overhaul life
- Plus a slight altitude improvement (up to 15% on 3516J)
How to upgrade
It’s easy to retrofit your existing G3500 engines with the new exhaust system. We offer three different upgrade kits for the G3516J, depending on the vintage of your engine. Just order one part number to get everything you need, including the water-cooled manifolds, heat shields and new turbochargers. For other G3500 engines, simply search for the “paper kit” part number for a complete list of all the parts you need. Need assistance with ordering or installation?
