Building the foundation.

The original 3600 has been blazing trails since 1984, when it was born into our growing family of diesel engines. A powerhouse from the start, it quickly earned its reputation by delivering optimized power and lower maintenance, especially in high-horsepower applications. After just one year of exceeding standards for diesel engine performance, its successor was greenlit for development.

Ready for liftoff.

The gas-powered G3600 ESS engine launched in 1991 and immediately set itself apart. This engine pushed the existing possibilities for gas compression applications with its field-proven reliability and unmatched levels of power. To match the growing needs of the sector, the G3600 family continued to expand rapidly with the introduction of the G3600 A3 engine in 2002.  The unprecedented acceptance from consumers solidified the G3600 as a key player in the field.

One giant leap.

The 2015 launch of G3600 A4 Gen 1 engines moved the needle in the oil and gas industry, with significant upgrades from previous models. The A4 Gen 1 came equipped with temperature-sensing technology to automatically redirect its systems as needed, with a 5% increase in horsepower over its predecessor. The new design included a combustion strategy that allowed the original A4 to use fuel at a lower heating value, while operating over the widest range of fuel quality possible. The A4 Gen 1 also exceeded rigorous emission standards, producing 40% less NOx, less carbon monoxide and less VOC than previous engines. These game-changing operations were a win for the environment—and for you.

The G3600 A4 Gen 2 is the latest and greatest in the G3600 legacy. GHG, VOC, CO and Methane emissions are reduced in the G3600 A4 Gen 2 over the prior model; more than 90% of components remain the same for packaging compatibility. The Gen 2 has the option for 10% more power and increases performance even further, while still improving emissions to create a better tomorrow. The Gen 2 is at the forefront for the next generation of gas compression applications around the world.
