#3 – Supportive From Start To Finish

After a product leaves our factory doors, the dealers take over. When a machine is delivered to a customer, they’re out there making sure it’s operating as expected. When training is needed on a jobsite, they share the expertise needed. When support is needed during the lifetime of a product, they provide superior service, carefully monitoring a machine’s health and scheduling repairs to prevent costly downtime. And, when customers look for financing and insurance, they connect customers to our Cat Financial team.

Branded merchandise sells the brand

While Caterpillar generates the majority of its revenue from machinery sales, the company also makes money from its trademark and licensing agreements. The licensing of its branded products and apparel are key revenue drivers for the business. The company's products are sold in retail stores worldwide and in 2018 the company was ranked 28 out of 150 by License Global for its global licensor status.

Cat dealers rent and sell used equipment

While Caterpillar generates most of its revenue from selling newly-manufactured machinery to businesses, the firm also rents and sells used machinery.
