See Your Excavator’s Electronic Maintenance Manual
All hydraulic excavator operators should be familiar with the important resource that is your Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM). The answers to all your major questions are found within those pages. But what if you don’t have your paper copy on hand? Your excavator has an electronic maintenance manual for quick access on the go.

You might find yourself on a jobsite without the paper copy of your Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM). Maybe you’ve lost it or misplaced it — or just left it somewhere you can’t access at the moment.
That’s when your electronic maintenance manual comes in — find it on your Cat® hydraulic excavator’s touchscreen monitor. No matter where you’re working, you’ll always have your OMM with you — and all it takes is a few taps on your touchscreen.
HOW TO SEE YOUR ELECTRONIC MAINTENANCE MANUAL
- Enter your applications menu (press the button featuring a grid of squares in the lower-left corner of your monitor).
- From there, scroll down to find the electronic OMM.
- Tap on the electronic OMM button.
- From this menu, tap electronic OMM.
- Now you can explore your manual.
This is where you’ll get info on everything from safety and maintenance to operation and warranty details. Maybe you’re on the jobsite and need to try a new feature for the first time. Having access to an electronic OMM means you don’t have to halt productivity to go find your copy — or call a fellow operator to get instructions.
In your OMM menu, you’ll also see a subsection for coaching videos. These give you a more in-depth visual look at specific topics.
