Keeping your farm in order is no easy task, especially when facing today’s challenges. Luckily, there’s machine automation technology like Cat® Command and machine telematics data to help make your job easier. Here are some ways to use this technology on the farm.

Cat® Command

Cat Command technology lets you get more work done in less time, and you don’t have to be in a machine. In fact, you don’t even have to be on the farm! Cat Command stations allow you to operate machines remotely. This remote operation removes any safety risks you may have on your farm and getting in and out of machines. It also makes operating equipment more accessible for disabled farmers.

This technology is especially useful for tackling labor shortages since it lets you quickly move between different jobs. For example, a farmer can rake down a silage pit with a small wheel loader and then hop to a compact track loader at the mill to load up on cattle feed - all from their home office.

Cat Command also gives you more control of your machine. With cameras all along the top of the cab, operators can get a bird’s eye view of their surroundings using the Cat Command station. The station flashes red and green lights to let you know when you’re safe or leaning too far in a certain direction. It also has ASSIST features to give you the feel of operating the machine in person.

Automated Farm Technologies

Many automated farm technologies don’t need any hands on deck. Adding these to your farm is another great way to tackle large-scale jobs and labor shortage issues.

Take a look at machine telematics. You can attach a telematics device to a machine like a skid steer loader and use its real-time updates to track your loader’s idle time and see where you can cut back and save money on fuel. You can also catch any mistakes made by your operators and potential maintenance issues as they come up, preventing problems down the road.

There’s also crop monitoring technology or even solar-powered robots, which can also help make things easier for you on the farm. These solutions can help take care of your fields while you’re not around and give you updates and reports on the go.

From safer work environments to more productivity, automated farming technologies like Cat Command stations and machine telematics data are here to help tackle the daily challenges you may face. Try adding them to your fleet to help boost your productivity on and off the farm.
